Critical Path Method (CPM) is a prediction method using network analysis for estimating the minimum project duration and determining the amount of scheduling flexibility within the schedule model. The CPM system helps to identify and sequence the activities that have the highest impact (critical path) with ZERO floats & less impact (non-critical path) with free floats on the project’s completion date.

A critical path is determined by identifying the longest stretch of dependent activities and measuring the time required to complete them from start to finish.
